SUMMARY:
Weyoun 9 is shocked to discover that he was
also abducted by the Sect, and that it was his DNA they used to change Ensign
Hamill into a hybrid for military purposes. The founders hid this from him and
took the memories of this event. Now
that he has the knowledge he plans to do something that will shock everyone on
both sides of the wormhole - his plan to clone her as his own offspring...
Weyoun stood
in boraths quarters and listened as Borath told him everything he wanted to
know about his abduction, the founder’s decision to remove his memories, and
when they found out it was the Starfleet’s Ensign Hamill who received his DNA
from the Sects’ experiments.
“You were
taken from your ship by the Sect, and most of your Jem’Hadar had been killed. Sometime later a scout ship found you dumped
on an empty Federation cargo ship, floating aimlessly through space- her crew
had gone too. You were barely alive,
but we managed to heal you. The Founders,
in their wisdom, asked for your memory to be erased of that encounter…”
A long,
quiet pause followed, until Borath spoke again.
“I must
say I agreed with them considering your state of mind. Your night terrors and flashbacks pushed you
to the edge of insanity. In light of
this, the Founders thought it best you had your memories purged… it was for
your own good Weyoun…” Borath finished softly.
“I see…” Weyoun
said quietly, “Well, if it was the will of the founders…”
“Weyoun,
we only found out that the young female ensign had your DNA when Keevan
captured her for our testing.” Borath cut in.
Weyoun
paced boraths quarters back and forth, his arms behind his back “How many DNA
samples did you take from her?”
Borath
wondered where this conversation was heading “The cloning scientists took ten
samples in total.”
“Do you
still have the samples?” Weyoun asked.
“Of
course we do, we also have the data implant from her which I took after she
died. The Sect technology is more advanced than our own, but it would appear
that the model we have only works in the host it was given to but we are trying
to replicate it and find a way to create ones that will work in our Jem’Hadar,
it could make us stronger then before. We could try to take the Alpha Quadrant again…” Borath says
smiling.
“Borath,
I feel emptiness within me that I have never felt before until she came into
being - I now feel incomplete”.
It would
appear that your mind and instincts have bonded you to this hybrid Weyoun, you seem
to have been experiencing the feelings of a Vorta father.” Borath said looking
at Weyoun with great interest.
Weyoun stood
up again and gently rubs his hands together “I need to get rid of this terrible
feeling” a deep sigh follows “I have made a decision… I am going to get
permission from the Founders to have her cloned.”
Borath
stands up and walks over to Weyoun. “Weyoun, are you sure?” he asks.
“Yes. The
clone will have no memory of who she was, she will be a new being, a new Vorta
if you will. But most of all she will
be my own flesh and blood. Her new
identity will be as my offspring, my daughter Borath!” He said smiling.
“But Weyoun,
you’re forgetting something; Ensign Hamill was Keevans‘and she could be again
if you are granted permission from the Founders to clone her. The bond between them might still be there,
and I am sure Keevan will want to see her…” Borath said to a slightly angered Weyoun.
“But Keevan
forced her to be his mate, did he not Borath? Weyoun said with a smirk.
“That may
be, but Keevan was madly in love with her, and he still is. I have never known Keevan to feel anything
for anyone until she came along. I always thought Keevan had no time for anyone
but himself; we all know how devious our keevan is!” Borath said with unease.
“Yes, and
look who taught him to be like that, you Borath. That’s why I want him no
where near her, I expect you to keep him away. You’re the only one he will listen to. She will no longer be Ensign
Hamill the woman, he loves is dead “
“Yes, but
the connection might still be there as I pointed out before, Weyoun.”
”Well, it looks like you’ve got your work cut out for you Borath, because I
want Keevan to have no contact with her what so ever, be it physical or mental
no contact at all got it. The authority
poured from Weyoun’s voice. With that,
Weyoun left boraths quarters.
“I can’t
assure that Weyoun.” Borath says to himself, sitting back down and looking
through his psychological files.

“It is so
great to see you again Worf!” Kira said.
“I second that!” Dax said, putting her arms around him.
“So how
long are you planning on staying Worf?” Kira asks, smiling.
“Just for
a week I hope. I thought you could use some help plus I need a rest from my new
job for awhile, what with the war with the sect and the Dominion before that,
it takes its toll on everyone, even proud Klingons.”
“We have
had our fair share of trouble and surprises…” Dax cut in. Worf stops walking and they look at each
other for a moment on the Promenade. Worf
looks at his two old friends and expresses his thoughts, as Klingons generally
did.
“I still
would not trust the Dominion, even though they have been our allies during the Sect
war. Just because they helped us does
not mean we should let our guard down with them. They brought the Alpha quadrant to the brink of collapse once
before, who’s to say that they are not preparing for another push into our
territory again...”
As Worf
finished, he caught a glimpse of Kira’s expression in the corner of his
eyes. He noted the offence she had
taken to the comments, and his Human upbringing urged him to make amends.
“Of
course Odo is not included in this…”
Kira
seemed to react positively to this endorsement of her former love. “No offence taken Worf, and no, we are not
going to trust them. We will be keeping
them at arms length until we know what is going on… Come on, let’s talk over a
drink.”
*****
As Weyoun
entered the meeting room, he noticed the new head founder was sat at the end of
the long conference table. This new
Founder was the replacement for the former Founder who now was serving a jail
sentence for her part in the Federation-Dominion War.
This new
Founder one was not as harsh on her Vorta, but was still very cunning. Weyoun
noted that the female Vorta accompanying the Founder was kilana in her usual low
cut dress the only vorta that preferred to dress slightly differently.
“Thank
you dearest founder for coming so soon to speak with me.” Weyoun said, bowing
to her.
“Yes, yes
Weyoun...” The Founder had little time for Weyoun’s approach, she always made
that plainly obvious. “…now, what is it
you want to talk to me about?” the Founder asked.
“Uh,
founder… you remember the Starfleet officer, Ensign Hamill, the hybrid created by
the Sect…” Weyoun asked sheepishly.
The founder’s
reply was immediate and forceful “Of course I do, what about her?”
“The
Founders know that I have always given my full loyalty to the cause of the
Dominion, but I now find myself motivated on issues of a personal nature; I
have knowledge that I too was abducted by the Sect and that this young ensign
was given my DNA by them in their experiments.” Weyoun said nervously.
“How do
you know this, who told you!” the female founder shouts down at him in anger.
“What is
the real reason you got me out here; surely not to just to talk about her.” She
began to lower her voice, which made Weyoun lift his head up and say.
“Well, yes
and no dear Founder; I would like to know if it is possible to ask for your
permission to allow me to have her cloned, as my offspring. I believe she will
be a great asset to the Dominion if we were to declare war again on Starfleet
and the Federation. In honour of you, my
Founder, she shall live to serve you and the Dominion to her best abilities…” Weyoun
bows to her again.
The Founder
was shocked at Weyouns request, Kilana too looked shocked, was this Ambassador Weyoun
talking or someone else. Weyoun was not
one for emotions of any kind…
The Founder
thought over this for awhile, with the exception of number 6, the Weyoun clone has
always been faithful to the Dominion, and as such he is worthy to receive a
reward for his undying loyalty to the Founders. This thought above all other swayed her decision.
“Very
well Weyoun, you have my permission to clone her…”
A joyous
expression filled Weyoun’s face, but the founder interjected to keep his feet
fully on the ground…
“…but any
sign of her turning on us and she will be terminated without hesitation.”
“As ever
Founder, you are graceful in all things.”
This Founder was not one who liked Weyoun’s slick, almost oily style,
but she never doubted his sincerity. Weyoun
bowed before his master before turning to leave the room. Once the sound of his footsteps disappeared
into the distance, the founder spun round to face Kilana.
“Kilana,
there could be advantages in this for the dominion. Now we just need to try and keep this away from Odo for awhile
longer in the great link until we know when it is best to tell him.”
Kilana
said nothing; she looked down at the marble floor and rolled her bright blue
eyes before turning to leave. leaving the Founder in quiet contemplation of
the plans she has just set in motion …
*****
Days pass,
and Weyoun’s cloning project was well into its first stages. Weyoun looked on as the cloning scientists
worked around the clock in the labs. He was going to be a father in the most unusual way to a person
that was human but now, thanks to the interference of the Sect giving her his
DNA, she was now to join the Vorta society as his offspring.
He
watches as the cloning scientists worked and monitored a small child floating
in a tank of yellow liquid. Soon she would
be fully grown and ready to take her place at his side, serving the Founders.
A short
haired, willowy woman entered the labs and walked up to him.
“Weyoun,
Borath said you needed to talk to me…” the woman says to him softly.
“Yes I do
Eris, and I would like to thank you for coming out to see me. I would like you to train my daughter to use
her empathic powers to the fullest.”
“Weyoun,
you know that I normally only do this with enhanced cloned Vorta as a policy,
but for you, I’m sure I can make an exception…”
”Thank you Eris, and I can assure you that my daughter shall be - and is - not
just any normal Vorta.”
“I know,
the subject from whom you are creating your daughter from is far more than her
human physiology suggests. The
modifications that were made to her by the Sect has made her…” her voice tailed
off as she failed to find the right word to describe her thoughts “…an
interesting subject within the Dominion.”
A long
silence followed…
“I also
know that Keevan may well have a claim to her.
He did after all link with her”
Weyouns
brows furrowed at the mere mention of Keevan’s name “Eris, let’s not mention Keevan
again, ever!” Weyoun’s voice pierced the silence of the lab.
Now that
the introduction was over, Weyoun was eager to deal with the rest of his issue
– today is the day to sort out appropriate attire for his soon-to-be daughter.
“Now I
must see Kilana over what dress code my daughter should have.” he then
proceeded to walk out when Eris called out to him “Weyoun, why Kilana?” she
asks. Weyoun stops and turns to look at
her “Well, no offence Eris, but I would like my daughter to look like a woman,
and not a man. I do hope you understand. Weyoun laughs then leaves the lab “What
a cheek I don’t look like a man I just dress differently.” she says looking herself
up and down.
*****
“… yes, Weyoun
is in the process of cloning her as we speak…” Borath says to Keevan. Borath felt that Keevan had to know what was
happening; despite everything. Keevan had been neglecting his work of late.
Borath tried to understand why Keevan had fallen for a human, or indeed at all.
What made the choice even more unusual was
that she was a Starfleet officer.
Keevan’s feelings
for Sophie were strong, verging on obsession, even possessive. This caused him
to do some very unsavoury things to keep her. He had let his bad side overtake him, and now it seemed Keevan was
now regretting what he did.
“That’s
all I need to know Borath…” the sound of keevans voice shook borath out of
thoughts and evaluation on events. Keevan walked away from Borath and stared
out of a nearby window. Borath could
sense the turmoil in his friend, and decided to press the issue
“Keevan,
I have noticed that you have not been yourself lately.” Keevan turned around to
look at his friend, his eyes laced with sadness. He let out a sigh, and explained…
”I have been having nightmares over what I did to Sophie; I hurt the person I
have ever loved, and now I feel I should be punished…” Keevan hit out at the
wall in frustration, the thud of contact echoing through the room.
“I forced
myself upon her, I mean she wasn’t going to willingly love me; so what did I do,
I got inside her head and made her love me in the worst possible way…”
Keevan tugged
at his black curly hair and threw his jacket across the room. Borath couldn’t believe what he was hearing;
Keevan is changing, the devious and cold Keevan he knew was disappearing and
being replaced by a caring and sensitive Keevan who was showing distinct signs
of a guilty conscious. Borath never thought he would ever see this in Keevan. He
approached Keevan to try and console him, but Keevan pushed him away and asked
to be left alone.
At this
point, Borath knew a hasty exit was probably the best option, and left Keevan
to agonize over the past; and consider a possible future course of action…
*****
Weyoun
awoke with his nerves sending pains through his stomach. The excitement at the prospect of becoming a
father was running his every thought. His “daughter” was about to be given
life. The cloning lab had just contacted
him that morning to give him the good news - she was ready to come out of the
tank.
Borath was
in his office getting ready to make a check on the clone’s psychological condition
when the head cloning scientist entered the office, his face paler then usual.
Borath
looks up at him; surprised to see him “Ainloin, what’s the matter?” he asked “Should
you not be in the labs next door by now?”
Ainloin
was a long-time friend of Borath, and he knew that Ainloin was difficult to
pull away from his work at the best of times, and this meant only one thing –
something was wrong with the clone…
“I found
something wrong with the clone”
Borath
comforted himself with the thought that at least he could always judge his
friend.
“What
have you found wrong with her?”
“The
clone is pregnant… in the very early stages, but pregnant nether the less.” Ainloin
replied.
Borath gave the impression of someone who expected this news already, which
Ainloin picked up on.
“Borath,
you don’t seem surprised by this news…” added Ainloin
”No, that’s because I knew that her predecessor was with child also
in the early stages, which I also believe no one, not even she knew about it
and we wasn’t going to tell her.”
“What you
knew all this time, and you never told us. You should have said something. We would have eradicated it… When did you find out?” Ainloin said
in anger.
“When we
caught her, we performed many tests on her. It was Amren who found out, and I
told him not to say anything to anyone - not even you Ainloin.”
“Why?”
Ainloin countered in confusion.
“I saw no
point.” Borath’s expression hardened “Ainloin,
you will not tell anyone.”
“But what
about Weyoun and the founders, surely they must be informed.”
Borath
stepped closer to Ainloin, his expression deepening still further “Most of all Weyoun
and the founders…” He steps away from
Ainloin and moves back toward the exit doors.
“What
will that achieve?”
“I want Weyoun
to get more then he’s bargained for! I will not have him talk about Keevan like
he’s dirt anymore.” Borath says smiling. If the founders are told then weyoun
will know.
The
discussion was cut short by the appearance of Weyoun in the cloning labs, his
face beaming with anticipation. As he
walks in, he sees Borath and Ainloin in the side office talking. They look up and see him, they enter the main
cloning area to greet Weyoun, and Borath goes to a wall mounted com unit and
mumbles something, then walks up to Weyoun and greets him.
“Well Weyoun,
this is it!” Borath says smiling.
”Yes it
is”.
“We just
need to wait; someone else is joining us…”
The main
entrance doors opened again, and Eris walked into the room. With this, Borath
continued.
That’s everyone, we are ready to begin…” he says to them smiling. Weyoun nods as a number of scientists
surround the tank. Ainloin walks up to
a console nearby, then suddenly the tank begins to drain and it slowly opens. A young naked woman falls out and two
assistants catch her in their arms and wrap a gown around her wet slippery pale
skin. Then carry her to a chrome table
and gently lay her on it.
Ainloin walks up to them with three other scientists and they examine her.
“Vital
signs seem to be okay.” Ainloin said. He gently pulls out a tube from her mouth
that runs down to the back of her throat that attached the clone to the tank
via the systems that was growing and keeping her alive for days.
“Let’s
see if she can breathe on her own.” Ainloin said as he finishes pulling out the
tube. She begins to move and chokes as she takes a big deep breathe bringing up
water.
“Good,
she is breathing…” Ainloin adds smiling as the two assistants dry her off and
help her sit up.
***
In the
solitude of his quarters, Keevan was getting ready to do his daily duties for
the Founders when suddenly he felt a coldness running through him like a gush
of wind taking his breath away. He
jumped back when he sees a white mist that takes the form of Sophie. He
couldn’t believe what he was seeing. Keevan rubbed his eyes and looked again,
but she was gone.
“Sophie…”
he whispers, and then rushes out of his quarters.
***
Eris walked up to a delighted Weyoun and says “Congratulations Weyoun, you’re a
Father!”
Weyoun
smiled and puts his hands together.
“Do you
have a name for her?” Eris added.
Weyoun
looked at her and says “No, I am afraid not. I have no idea what to call her.”
“Oh, do
not worry; I am sure you will think of something.” Eris tried to give him
confidence in this. Borath walks up to
them.
“Weyoun,
you should go to her; let her know who you are. Let her know you’re her father!” Borath smiles to him. Weyoun slowly walks up to her, accompanied by
Borath, who was ready to take notes on her behaviour towards Weyoun.
Weyoun stood
within touching distance of her for what seemed like an eternity. Slowly, she
lifts her head up to look at him, her big lavender eyes not unlike his own take
in Weyouns image. Her face bore all the
likeness of ensign hamill”; her shoulder length hair now black with fine
streaks of auburn running through. Her
ears were now much bigger and more normal for a Vortas and her lips are the
colour of a blood red rose which stuck out from her porcelain face. To Weyoun, she looked confused and nervous of
everything and everyone that was going on around her.
Borath
beckons Weyoun on to start the bonding process. Weyoun gently grabs hold of her tiny hands, noticing her pinkish
nails and holds them in his. Their eyes
meet and then she slowly puts her face next to his and starts to smell him.
“This is
good…” Borath says quietly “…she is recognizing you by scent, this is common in
vorta families...” he noted down every fact he noticed onto his PADD “…she is
sensing the blood ties.”
Weyoun does the same to her, and then she stops looks at him and smiles
“You are…”
she then stops looking at Weyoun in confusion; he decides to complete her
statement and resolve her confusion.
“Your Father…
I am your Father… I am the one from which you came.” she then puts her arms
around him.
“Father…”
she says softly. Borath nods to Weyoun
to do the same to her. He smiles and
hugs her with all of the emotion he can muster. The bond was now formed between father and daughter. Weyoun was greatly looking forward to getting
to know her.
*****
Hours
later and Borath had performed a complete set of physical and psychological
tests on the new clone. Eris had talked to her about the training that was to
come to enable her to harness her empathic powers. Weyoun patiently waited for completion of the tests. Once done, he whisked his daughter off to
the Vorta tailors with Kilana in tow. They
all look at many dresses for her. The
tailor, who makes all clothes for Vorta, walks up to them.
“Have you
found a suitable attire yet?” she asked them. Weyoun and Kilana turn round to look at her.
“I am
afraid not Tanje…” replied Kilana. Weyoun’s daughter then walked up to them
holding a dress in her arms; it was part velvet and part silk at the top in a
beautiful shade of soft lilac with swirls of white.
“Father,
I like this one; I think it is a beautiful colour.”
She
turned to face the tailor “What do you call this shade?”
“Uh, the
colour of the dress is called ilisha. It
is a rare colour here on Kurill Prime.” Tanje replied smiling.
”Okay, then I will take this dress Tanje.” Weyoun’s voice conveyed the joy he
was feeling in his heart.
“Oh, I
don’t suppose you have matching boots in that colour by any chance?” Weyoun
added. Tanje smiled at him. “I’ll see what I can dig out!”
Sometime
later and Weyoun’s daughter tried on her new clothes. It was certainly better than walking around
in a lab gown all day.
As she emerges
from her room in Weyouns new quarters the founders gave him for both of them to
live together like a vorta family should, she looks at herself in the mirror.
“Oh, it is
beautiful don’t you think father?” she asks him.
“I am
afraid I will have to take your word for it my dear, all Vorta except you have
no sense of aesthetics.” Weyoun replied in a sad tone.
“Why is
this, why am I the only Vorta to have a sense of beauty?” she asks, confusion
edged in her tone.
“I don’t
know, but it makes you even more special compared to other Vorta. I know the
reason now, it must be because you’re my daughter!” he gently grabs her around
the shoulders and laughs. She laughs
with him.
“You
really like that colour don’t you.” he asks her, looking at the dress.
“Yes I do,
it has a name to it too.” Weyoun begins to leave the room, but is stopped by
his daughters questioning.
“Father,
where are you going?” she calls out to him.
“Oh, I’ve
just got to see someone at the lab, that’s all. I will be back soon, you just relax.” she nods her head in reply
and sits down on the sofa, admiring her dress.
“Ainloin!”
Weyoun calls out to him as he enters the lab. Ainloin turns around to look at him.
“Yes Weyoun?”
”I finally have a name for her; I want it put in her memory implant.” Weyoun says.
”Good, just tell me what it is and I will program it in immediately.” Ainloin
grabbed a PADD from the nearby desk.
“Ilisha!”
Weyoun says smiling.
“That’s a colour is it not?” Ainloin asks.
“Yes it
is.” Weyoun replies “Yes, a rarely used but beautiful colour – just like my
daughter!” Weyoun says with a big smile and as he turns and leaves the lab.
“You have
no idea!” Ainloin says to himself.
*****
Days pass, and Ilisha’s empathic training has begun with Eris. The founders had ordered that she also take
combat training with the Jem’Hadar. Weyoun
had learned from Amren that a way had been found to replicate the Sect implant
they took from Hamill. This chip had
been placed into the Ilisha clone for testing before the possible mass introduction
of the device into the Jem’Hadar.
Weyoun
was a little shocked with this information, but if the Founders wished this to
happen; it was not his place to disagree.
However, he still found the Founders’ motives unclear. But at this time it didn’t bother him; all
that mattered now was Ilisha, and the happiness she is bringing into his life. Weyouns
priorities were changing. And he knew
it.
Weyoun
would watch Ilisha training in between serving the Founders whenever he got the
chance. On this day, the founders
wanted to meet Ilisha. Weyoun approached
his daughter after she had finished her combat training. He was proud of Ilisha; she was the only Vorta
that was considered strong enough to undertake combat training due to the
implant.
As Ilisha
approached him, Weyoun’s expressions beamed.
“Ilisha,
it was a thrill to watch you train and perform so well; I am very proud of you.”
“Thank
you Father.”
”Daughter, it is time to meet the Founders; the ones that you shall be serving.”
“Really, Father.”
Her voice was tinged with excitement at the prospect of meeting “Gods”.
“Really,
they have been impressed by the reports of your progress, and they want to see
how your training is coming along first hand.
They also want to get to know.”
Weyoun
walked towards the exit of the huge training arena, he turned back to face his
daughter, and beckoned for her to follow him. “Come, the Founders are waiting... It is not good to keep them waiting!”
Weyoun
enters the marble meeting room ahead of Ilisha, the big doors close behind them.
Weyoun bows and sits down at the grand
meeting table and signals for Ilisha to do the same. As he watched Ilisha sit
herself down next to him, Weyoun could see that Odo was present. Weyoun was uncomfortable; Odo was to be told
later by Weyoun directly, not from the founders as seemed to now be the case. He could tell that Odo was less than happy
with events.
The female
Founder at the front of the large meeting desk spoke first.
“Ilisha,
we are the Founders.” She spread her
arms to indicate the other Founders around the top of the table. “I am sure that Wey…” suddenly she stops and
corrects herself “…your father has told you all about us…”
“Oh yes…”
Ilisha replied.
As the group
talk together, the female founder was becoming more and more pleased with Weyouns
gift to them. Ilisha was
asked to leave, who departed with the grace expected of a loyal Vorta. The female Founder stands up and addresses Weyoun.
“I must
say that I am very pleased with her progress - she is exceptional. I am going to appoint her a field supervisor.”
This was
music to Weyouns arched ears “Oh, dear founder - thank you!”
“Weyoun,
leave us now.” Weyoun bows before his masters before making the polished exit
so typical of the most loyal of Vorta.
Once
Weyoun had left the hall, Odo stands up to face the female Founder; his face
full of anger.
“Do you
know what you have done?” he asks her.
“Yes Odo,
I do… I let Weyoun create his own offspring.” she replied.
“I cannot
believe you let this happen, this ‘Vorta’ used to be a human being, a Starfleet
officer.”
The face
of the female Founder, normally serene and blank, was etched with anger.
“Not
anymore she’s not! Anyway, the body of
Ensign Hamill was sent back to earth to her family. Ilisha is not Hamill.”
Odo looks
at her and shakes his head “You still allowed the use of her DNA to clone her.”
“Odo…” added
the female founder, who walks up to him. “…that may be, but she is also made up
of Weyouns DNA too - she is not Ensign Hamill, she is Ilisha – Weyoun’s
daughter.”
Odo turned
and started to leave the hall, before he could reach the exit, the voice of the
female Founder came booming across the space “Where are you going Odo?”
“I am
going back to Deep Space Nine; I think your goals for the Dominion and my own
do not match.” With that, he turned again and left the hall…
*****
hours later, and Eris comes to train Ilisha at her and Weyouns’ quarters…
“Oh,
hello Eris… come in, she’s been waiting for you…” Weyoun says, looking sad.
The
expression on his face concerned Eris “Weyoun, are you alright?”
“No, Odo
has left the great link and has left for Deep Space Nine, and it’s my
fault.” Weyoun says rubbing his hands nervously. Eris looked at him with increasing concern.
”Weyoun, it’s not your fault… in fact, it’s no ones fault. These bad things happen. I am sure Heena and Gelnon can make him see
sense and bring him back home.” Eris smiles.
“Odo will
not listen to them; they don’t have the care and patience for such a mission. I do, I know Odo would listen to me.”
Ilisha
comes in to the lounge “Father, are you alright?” She then sees Eris and smiles.
“Yes of
course, I am fine dear, just a minor problem… now go and get ready for your
training with Eris.” Eris smiles again at
Weyoun and follows Ilisha out of the lounge.
Weyoun knew he had to get Odo back himself. He had to see the female founder over this. He left his quarters in earnest later that
day. Soon after Weyoun’s departure, Ilisha
returns home after being out with Kilana for the afternoon. She
noticed a recorded message for her on the com console in the lounge. She approached the console and sat down next
to it. As she played back the message,
her father’s face appeared on the view screen and the message began…
“Ilisha
my dear, I have gone to Deep Space Nine for a few days to bring back founder Odo.
The two idiots they sent after him won’t
be able to get him to come back home; I must to talk to him…” his demeanour turned very defensive at this
point, as if considering the delivery of his next words with care “…I need to make amends for something I have
done.” The sad tone in his voice was
amplified by his hesitant delivery and defensive expression, something had been
bothering him, she felt it but before he could speak again he was interrupted
by a Jem’Hadar for a moment. He nodded
to him and then told the soldier to go away so that he could continue.
“…Now,
yes where was I… Oh yes, I have ordered Kilana to care for you while I am away,
and you will do as she says; no disobeying her. If the founders need you for anything, you shall serve them with
honour like I taught you. I must go now,
I will see you soon my dear Ilisha…” the screen went blank.
Ilisha sat
in the chair beside the console and she began to feel a deep loneliness within
her; this was the first time she had been apart from her Father, and she didn’t
like it.
***
“She is
on her own, Keevan… Weyoun went on a mission to get Odo back, he left hours ago.”
Borath said to Keevan. “This is a good opportunity to see her Keevan. But you
will have to watch out for Kilana; Weyoun left Ilisha in her care.”
Finally,
Keevan felt a ray of hope light up the darkness of his recent despair. “Don’t worry Borath, I am a good sneaker. I
will get to her with out being seen; I just want to see her again before
everything changes.”
***
That
night, Ilisha could not sleep after kilana had been to see how she was and left
her for the night. She got up to get
some Kava nuts and Ripple berries from the kitchen. She had been really hungry of late and eating more then she
should.
Returning
from the kitchen with her meal, she heard a beep at the door, she wondered to
herself who it could be, and decided to answer it. As she opened the door, to her surprise stood a handsome tall Vorta
male she had not seen before with the brightest blue eyes that just seemed to
stare right through her.
He smiled
at her and began to speak “Hello, you must be Ilisha?”
“Yes I am,
and who are you?” Ilisha asks shyly.
“I am Keevan,
I know your Father well.” Keevan says, a broad smile crossing his face.
“Ah, you
would know him; everyone knows my father; he is the ambassador after all. So,
uh, Keevan, is there anything I can do for you?” Ilisha asks smiling.
“Just a
talk really; a chance to get to know you a little. I am sure we will bump into each other sometime in the future.”
The strangers’
behaviour was rather odd, but she was sufficiently intrigued by this handsome
man to want to talk to him more. “Alright,
come on in then.” She gestured to Keevan to invite him in. “I was about to have
some Kava nuts and Ripple berries, would you like some?” holding up the plate
to Keevan.
“No,
thank you; but it was nice of you to offer.”
“Please,
make yourself comfortable, and please… talk to me about your friendship with my
father.”
“It would
be my pleasure.”
They talked
for hours about the ups and downs of serving the Founders. Ilisha was greatly enjoying the opportunity
to talk to someone who was not here to teach, educate or protect her; it was a
chance to be natural.
As they
continued to talk, Ilisha was struck by an incredible sense of recognition for
her new friend.
“Keevan;
this may sound strange, but I have the strangest feeling that I have met you
before… It’s odd, and yet I know we have not met until tonight.
Keevans
interest was suddenly raised, and he sat up on the sofa they had slumped into.
“Really… what else do you feel about me?” he added nervously.
Ilisha now felt a strong sense of discomfort; she lifted herself up from the
sofa
“Uh,
don’t you think you should be going now; its getting awfully late and we don’t
want to displease the founders by showing up late for work tomorrow.” she said
quickly.
Keevan stood
up and suddenly wrapped his arms around her. Ilisha looked up at him, her big lavender eyes staring into
his. Keevan could feel Sophie’s soul
surrounding Ilisha somehow. Yes, he
felt it in his heart; he knew she had returned since he was told of Ilisha’s
activation.
He
remembered what Borath had told him on the way back to Kurill Prime from Deep
Space Nine on that terrible day before Sophie died in his arms. The pain of knowing that she was trying to
express her love for him; but he was not there to hear it.
He went
over and over in his head the things he had done to her in an effort to make
her bond with him. How could she ever
truly have loved him for what he was after what he had done to her? She might have eventually loved him only as
result of the mind controlling telepathy and drugs he had drummed it in to her
head that much that she actually began to believe it.
He looked
at Ilisha’s frightened face and thought it best to soothe her “I am not going
to hurt you Ilisha…” he gently lifts her chin up with his finger. “I only …”
Keevan
suddenly stopped and pulled away from her. As he did, he didn’t notice that the necklace had fallen out of
his jacket pocket onto the floor. Ilisha saw it drop and picked it up.
“This is
beautiful…” Ilisha says.
Keevan
turned round to see Ilisha holding the necklace, as he realised what she had
discovered, a look of shock crossed his face.
“Whose is
it?” Ilisha asked him, she was captivated by the necklace.
”Uh, it used to belong to someone very dear to me that I lost. She was the most amazing woman I had ever met. I was once a cold hearted, savage creature
devoid of feelings until she came along and changed that.”
His
expression became etched with pain.
“But I
hurt her deeply, which I now regret.” Keevan replied sadly.
“I am
sorry to hear that Keevan.” Ilisha handed him back the necklace. Her thoughts were now firmly on feeling
comfortable again. “Anyway, Keevan, you
had better go. My Father… he is very
protective of me and who I see. If he
finds out you have visited me… Well, he
also has a temper, even though he’s graceful and tolerant towards others.” Ilisha said smiling.
Keevan
was not so impressed “Are you sure this is the same Weyoun we are talking about
here?”
Keevan’s
last statement infuriated Ilisha; she turned to face him, the porcelain colour
of her skin barely able to hide the fires of anger that had suddenly brewed
within her.
“HOW DARE
YOU MOCK MY FATHER… He is more a man than most I have met around here. That’s why he is the Founders most trusted
aide. His kindness and will to work
with others are skills I see in such short supply in those around me. Yes, indeed, the Founders made a good choice
in my dear Father.”
Her
expression grew ever more fierce…
“I don’t
see you as an…” suddenly, she felt a clicking in the back of her neck. And her
pale features turned even fainter, she let out a cry of pain, collapsed to the
floor, clutching her head.
As she
dropped out of consciousness, she saw Keevan rush up to her and mutter some
words, she could barely decipher them. “No, I’ve hurt you again; haven’t I
Sophie… I am so sorry.”
Before
she had a chance to ask who “Sophie” was, she lost her battle with the
darkness…
***
Odo stepped out of the Dominion ship he had commandeered to leave Kurill Prime.
As he stepped out of the airlock into the light of the Promenade he is greeted
by an ecstatically happy Colonel Kira.
She hugged
him tightly in her arms. “What are you
doing here Odo? You should be in the Great
Link. They need you now more then ever…”
Kira asked whilst gently letting go of him.
”Kira, I left the Great Link for ever.” Odo replied, unsure of himself.
“Why Odo;
what has happened?” Kira asked, concern etched in her tone.
“They
have been keeping things away from me in the Great Link, and I have a feeling
they haven’t told me everything.” Replied
Odo, looking sad.
“What
kind of things?”
“It has
something to do with Ensign Hamill… Kira, they’ve cloned her.” Odo stated with
more than a slight amount of sorrow.
“She’s
now Weyoun’s daughter, called Ilisha.” Odo could tell Kira was having problems taking this information in.
”She can’t be Weyoun’s daughter; she has parents back on Earth… I can’t believe
what I am hearing Odo.”
“The Vorta
DNA they used to turn Hamill into a hybrid was Weyouns, the sect captured him
too. When Weyouns’ repressed memories
were returned to him, he got it in to his head to clone her as his offspring. Even more astounding is that the Founder allowed
him to do it.” Odo shook his head, still in a state of disbelief at the event
of recent days.
“The Dominion
must be getting something out of this; but what?” Kira started to pace the
room; her famed temper was already getting the better of her. Turning to look at Odo, she continued “Well,
I think we should let Starfleet know; don’t you?” She added.
Odo said
nothing, he turned to face the porthole and looked out at the Wormhole just as
it begins to open, from the depths of the raging, yet still stunningly
beautiful portal, two ships emerged. As both Kira and Odo’s attention was drawn to the visitors, the
office intercom beeped.
“Sir, two
Dominion ships are approaching.”
Kira
looked at Odo, who smiled “Determined as ever, I am sure the approaching ships
are a Dominion party sent to persuade me to go back to the Great Link; at least
they are persistent!”
Kira,
pressed the intercom on her desk, hail the ships Lieutenant, we’re on our way.
***
On board the first of the two ships, Gelnon was preparing himself to meet Odo,
when he was informed by one of his officers that they were being hailed.
“Is it
Colonel Kira?” he queried.
“No, Sir,
the hail originates from a Dominion vessel that has drawn alongside us.
“The view
screen on gelnons headset.” Flickers
on and Weyoun appears, to the deep surprise of Gelnon.
”Weyoun, what are you doing here?”
“The Founders
have sent me to complete the mission to return Odo to the Great Link. You and Heena are not needed here now, you
may return to Kurill Prime, I shall take it from here.”
”If the Founders wish it… then so be it.” Heena replies, stepping out from behind
a Jem’Hadar to stand next to Gelnon.
“Good,
then go.” Weyoun terminated the com link abruptly.
Weyoun
watches as Gelnon and Heenas ship leaves and disappears back through the Wormhole.
His thoughts turn to Ilisha. Was she
in some kind of trouble? No, she
couldn’t be; he left her in the care of Kilana… maybe it was him just him
missing her. He couldn’t turn back now; he had to convince Odo to go back to
the Great Link. As much as he wanted
Odo’s understanding, he now wanted to get back home as soon as he could.
***
”Dax, what is it?” Kira asked.
“Guess who’s
here to talk to Odo?” Dax replied, smiling.
“Let me
guess, the eminent Ambassador Weyoun…”
“Right on
the button!” was the overly smug reply.
“He has requested to dock, and is looking forward to meeting you again…”
Kira felt
a grinding pain in her stomach, she always felt this way when faced with the
slimy approach of the Vorta, but she knew she had to get to the bottom of the
cloning issue. “Alright, tell him Docking
Bay Five, I am going to have a few words with our friendly Ambassador about his
pet projects.” Kira stated, the anger
tainting her words.
The voice
of her soul mate broke her red haze “Let me handle this, alright.” Odo reached
out a kissed Kira on the forehead.
“Are you
sure, Odo?” Kira asked. Odo nodded in reply.
“Okay Odo,
let’s go…” Odo and Kira leave Ops.
***
At the order of Colonel Kira, the airlock to docking bay 5 was opened; two Jem’Hadar
soldiers appear, followed by Weyoun, smiling as ever.
“Ah Colonel
Kira, so nice to see you again so soon.”
Kira was
having great difficulty holding back her urge to be bluntly honest, but managed
to grit her teeth and get on “The feeling’s mutual Ambassador.”
“Odo, we
must talk…” he then bows to him “…I must explain to you why she has come into
being.” Weyoun pleads to Odo.
”Alright Weyoun, but Kira stays present.” Kira looked at Weyoun with a
sarcastic smile. Weyoun was unsettled by
this, but he continued regardless “Very well Odo.” He bowed again to Odo.
“Let’s go
to the Conference Room shall we?” Kira gestured, and her companions followed.
***
Ilisha awoke on a biobed; through the clearing haze of her vision, she could
make out two faces looking down upon her.
“Welcome
back Ilisha…” One of the blurry figures
spoke. “…You gave us a scare there for
a minute young lady.”
As her vision began to come into focus, she could see that the people looking
at her were a Doctor she didn’t know and Kilana.
Ilisha raised herself from the bed; as she stood up; she felt a waze of
dizziness that forced her to sit back down.
Kilana rushed over to steady her “Hey take it easy.”
Questions
filled Ilisha’s mind she tried remember what happened before she awoke
here. “How did I get here?”
“We’re
not sure; we just found you here.”
“We don’t
know who brought you in.” the Doctor added.
Ilisha again raises herself from the biobed and grabs her clothes that were
nearby on a chair. Then moves to leave sickbay. The Doctor gestures Ilisha to stay “Wait, we have not done any
tests on you yet to determine what’s wrong with you.”
“Never
mind, I must see my Father.”
“Ilisha, that’s not possible for a while.” Kilana replies.
“I NEED
TO SEE MY FATHER – I WILL SEE MY FATHER!!” Ilisha shouts; she pushes Kilana
and the Doctor away and runs out of the sickbay in only a blue medical gown.
The Doctor
raised himself from the floor then helped Kilana to her feet.
“We must
call Security; she can’t leave Kurill Prime, the Founders will not be
happy if she does.” Kilana says to the Doctor.
Ilisha ran
into her bedroom and quickly changed into her dress. She winced at the pain in her head, which had returned. There was a mixture of images and voices in
her head, as if a bad nightmare had broken through into her conscious
state. There was one thing she knew she
must do; she had to be with her Father. He would make her feel better, but in order to be with him, she
had to get off Kurill Prime and travel to this station called Deep Space Nine.
She left
her quarters and noted the presence of four Jem’Hadar soldiers and Eris at the
end of the corridor to her right. As
they caught sight of her, they began walking toward her.
”Ilisha, stop!!!” Eris called out as she approached. Ilisha looked at the approaching figures, and made a direct plea
to Eris “Please Eris, I must be with him… I beg you; let me go - I don’t know what’s
happening to me and I know my Father will make it go away. I know he will.”
”Oh Ilisha, your Father is not a Doctor; we have Doctors here that can help
that pain to go away. Anyway, it’s not
like you’ll never see him again because you will. Please come with me…” Eris holds out her hand.
“No…” Ilisha
says. Eris sighs.
“Ah, you are
as stubborn as Weyoun. You will come with me now. It’ll be for your own good. Please don’t make me use force.”
”No Eris, I must go…” Ilisha ran down the cream marble corridor. Eris, despite her concern, decided to stop
this issue there and then. She inhaled
deeply and braced her body as she used her powers to fire a blue fireball from
her chest. It hits Ilisha hard in the
back, sending her wheeling across the floor.
She
ordered the two Jem’Hadar accompanying her to pick Ilisha up and take her to
sickbay. As they approached, Ilisha
suddenly jumped up and high kicked both of them against the hard marble wall,
knocking them both out cold. She
stooped to pick up one of the soldiers shock rifles and turned to point it at Eris
and the two remaining soldiers.
“I can’t
believe you did that!” ilisha exclaimed.
“You gave
me no choice… and I will do it again if you don’t come with me now.”
“I can’t
do that…”
”Well, I guess you don’t give me a choice either.” Ilisha replied in anger, who fires the shock rifle at Eris,
hitting her square in the chest. Eris
falls to the floor, her chest smoking from the impact.
The Jem’Hadar
examined her lifeless body and growled at Ilisha. They edge nearer to her.
“I
wouldn’t come any closer; not unless you want the same.” Ilisha shouted at them. She quickly backed away
and ran off as fast as she could.
***
”I’m sorry Kilana; what was that you said?” asked Luaran over the
communications console.
“Ilisha
is proceeding in your direction; she is after the fighter that is docked where
you are… and be careful Luaran, we have just had confirmation that she has
killed Eris; she is dangerous and must be approached with caution. Remember the founders want her captured alive
and unharmed if possible.”
“It shall
be done; I will inform the others… Luaran out.”
Luaran rushed up to the six Jem’Hadar and the two Vorta engineers that were
working on the fighter.
“First,
second and third; outside the hanger doors now! The rest of you stay here…”
Luaran cries edged with concern.
“…when
you see the young female Vorta; do not kill her, just stun her - got it?”
Luaran shouting at them “Or the Founders will have our heads for it.”
One of
the engineers spoke up “Did I hear you right Luaran?”
”Ambassador Weyouns’ daughter is on a rampage.”
“Isn’t
she the mutant Vorta?”
“Yes she
is, and she’s coming this way.” Luaran replies, her bright blue eyes showing a
hint of anxiety.
The pain
in Ilisha’s head and neck was pounding, and getting worse. She could hear the voices of Jem’Hadar
soldiers approaching. Slowly and
quietly, she crept around the Jem’ Hadar that were guarding the hanger doors. She sneaked up behind them and knocked them
out.
She entered
the hanger via an air vent above the position of the Jem’Hadar she has
subdued. She crawled through the dark
channel; she hears the sound of gas beginning to surround her. The internal security ‘net must have
detected her.
Knowing
that the gas would subdue her if she remained in the vent for too long, she
upped her pace; they weren’t going to get her that easily she thought.
Finally,
she reached a part of the ventilation network that opened out onto the top deck
of the hangar. She kicked open the vent
cover and breathed in the fresh air. As
she coughed out the gas inhaled in the vents, she surveyed the hangar deck
below, three Jem’Hadar and three Vorta were clustered around the outside of the
fighter. Her training was being put to
use for the very first time.
She
climbed over the rails; her shock rifle at the ready. She jumped down onto the floor behind the
fighter; slowly climbed atop it and quietly entered it. She looked around and sat down at the helm
station. She was uncertain how she was going
to fly this fighter; she knew she had to be a fast learner.
She decided to trust her instincts; she picked up a head set and put it on. She
started up the engines; as the fighter began to move, the gathered soldier and
technicians outside the ship try in vain to stop her progress. She uses the ships computer to override the
hanger door controls and flies out of the hanger as a security detail arrived
to capture her. They arrive in time to
see the fighter lift up into the reddish haze of the Kurill sunset.
Luaran looked
up at the sky, a look of embarrassment and shame covering her features. She had failed in her task. She turned to face the group of Jem’Hadar
soldiers who were with her:
“The
founders will be very unhappy with us…”

Keevan sat in Borath’s office, looking down on the floor. He had told Borath everything that happened
between him and Ilisha. He had told Borath
how he had to sneak Ilisha to sickbay as she suffered a bad headache and passed
out.
Keevan felt in his heart that he was to blame for this. Maybe, just maybe Sophie’s memories are a
part of Ilisha, somehow and it was those memories trying to come back through
her. The words “amazing” and “extraordinary”
fell from boraths mouth during their conversation.
“On these
strange turn of events, maybe it wasn’t such a good idea to have seen her after
all.” he had told Keevan; because now Ilisha was on a rampage near Dominion
headquarters.
Several
hours after Borath had left the office to aid in the search, he returned with
another Vorta. Keevan did not know the
identity of this person, but he was too caught up in his own grief to really
care.
”Please sit down Deyos...” Borath pointed to a chair next to Keevan. Deyos acknowledged and sat down next to
Keevan. The two briefly exchange
glances and nod to each other.
”Borath, things have gone from bad to worse; Ilisha killed Eris and has now
fled Kurill Prime on her way to Deep Space Nine to see Weyoun. Now the founders have the facts on her
declining mental condition. They are
also aware that she is pregnant.”
“How did
they find out?” Borath replied, his expression showing the deep shock that this
information was now out in the open.
“Ainloin
disclosed the information when pressed by the Founders.”
Borath was
angered that Ainloin had told them. Keevan
looked across at Borath; his expression carrying an even greater shock. Ilisha pregnant… Suddenly the situation
became clear to him. Sophie must have
been pregnant, and this was passed onto Ilisha. As Vorta clones are sterilised, he was sure that the child was
not his. This meant that Sophie’s human
partner – Jason – was most likely the father.
Keevan
was brought out of his thoughts by the sound of Deyos still rambling on. He tried to listen intently…
“… Now
the founders have ordered us to replace the Ilisha clone she is to be replaced
by a better prototype. We are now
taking steps to eradicate the pregnancy fault in the Ilisha clones. The activation of Ilisha 2 is imminent; we have sent an urgent subspace message to Deep Space Nine to warn
them that Iisha is on her way there…
The transmission also passes on the order of the Founders to destroy Ilisha 1 on sight
“I don’t
think Weyoun will like this…” Keevan
said uneasily.
“Weyoun
will have to; he should be happy at the prospect of losing such an inadequate
daughter to a more stable and efficient one that would better serve the needs
of the Founders and the Dominion community as a whole.”
What
Keevan judged to be a smirk crossed the face of Deyos as he continued.
“…the Founders
have also appointed me to supervise the new Ilisha clone.”
Keevan
sighed and kicked the chair he was sitting on before walking out of the room in
disgust. Deyos turned to face Borath,
surprised at Keevans suddenly angered departure.
“Did I
say something wrong?” he asks.
Borath
shakes his head and looks down at the floor. His thoughts wonder it would
appear that his plan has backfired. Maybe he should disappear somewhere before
the founders get a hold of him. Yes he should disappear and as soon as
possible.
***
As Weyoun explained himself to Odo and Kira; the voice of Dax appears over the
intercom to intervene in their discussions.
“Sorry to
intervene Colonel, but there is an urgent message from Kurill Prime; it
concerns Weyoun…”
Kira looked across at Odo, then at Weyoun.
“All
right Dax, we are on our way.” Kira got up from her seat at the big dark glass
table. Weyoun felt a sudden pang off fear
in the bottom of his stomach; something was wrong, and it was to do with
Ilisha.
As the group walked onto the Ops deck, Dax signalled for the group to come over
to her.
”Lets see what they want.” Kira sighs. Dax
plays the message.
“To Colonel
Kira, commander of Space Station Deep Space Nines. This is a Code Red warning; the daughter of Ambassador Weyoun has become
mentally unstable. She has escaped our
guards and she is currently on a course to the station. Please tell your officers to approach with
extreme caution; she is armed and dangerous…
I repeat armed and dangerous… Please try and contain her until we arrive.
The
message fades to black. Once the view
screen is turned off, Kira and Odo spun to face Weyoun with sad expressions on
their faces.
“Well, we
had better get ready for your daughter’s arrival…” Kira explains to a pained Weyoun.
***
The voice in Ilishas head was now pestering her to the point she now wanted to
die just to stop it; the voice was female, but she couldn’t make out what it
was saying to her and why it was in her head causing her this intense pain
along with this sharp clicking noise in the back of her neck. She just had to
be with her father she needed him now more then ever.
***
Some hours later, Kira placed security on Red Alert as a Dominion fighter
appears on the station view screen.
“Give her
permission to dock at Docking Bay Two.”
Kira turned to face Odo, Dax and Weyoun “Let’s go and meet her.”
***
As the three approach the bulkhead outside Docking Bay Two, they stopped to
review the surroundings. Security
officers surrounded the area; Weyoun had ordered his Jem’Hadar to return to his
ship. He wanted them well away from Ilisha.
The
Airlock doors begin to open… suddenly the airlock doors flung themselves
completely open and a small figure slowly appears. The figure then fell down and crawls out of the Airlock.
“Father,
where are you?” Ilisha called out, crying as she laid her head down on the
floor.
“Ilisha!”
Weyoun cried out as he rushed to her side. He knelt down next to his daughter
and took her in his arms.
“Ilisha,
your Father is here now, I am here…” Weyoun softly spoken words displayed a
genuine tenderness that surprised both Kira and Odo.
“Oh Father,
I missed you so much.” Ilisha replied weakly. Suddenly, she cried out “Father, stop this voice in my head! Please, she won’t leave me alone!”
“Who, my
dear? What voice?” Weyoun asked the
question, but he was uncertain what he could do with any answer he would
receive. He got no answer from her however,
she just cried, burying her head in his chest.
Kira and Odo
approached the two; Weyoun looked up to them and pleaded with them;
“Please
help her please…” his lavender eyes showed the deep emotions that were tearing
him apart. Odo and Kira turn to face
each other and nod to him. Ilisha felt
cold and light headed; everything was dark around her. She could hear voices; other peoples’ voices.
She felt
herself being lifted and carried to a bright room. An even brighter light was
shone into her eyes, she felt someone touching her arm gently; and then
everything turned black…
Bashir removed
the hypospray from Ilisha’s arm, and walked over to Weyoun and the others. “The tests I have performed on Ilisha suggest
that she is suffering from severe shock.
I am surprised that both of them are fine…”
“What do
you mean Doctor?” Weyoun asked.
“Well,
considering Ilisha is pregnant.” Bashir replied
This news
took Weyoun completely by surprise, his eyes widen with shock.
“That’s
not possible; Vorta clones can’t produce that way.” He wondered how she got
this way. Now he had a shock to the system. He would get to the root of this
mystery. But right now he just wanted to be near her. Bashirs reply brings him
out of his thoughts.
”But, as
you well know, Ilisha is not a normal Vorta clone.”
Weyoun
looked at the Doctor, but he chose not to say anything in reply.
”Can I see her now?”
“Yes, I
don’t see why not…” Bashir replied. He took
Weyoun across the infirmary to her bed.
Ilisha was asleep; Weyoun quietly sat at her bedside. A quiet pause followed, and Bashir left Weyoun
alone with her.
Weyoun
looked at his daughter and gently took her hand in his and waited for her to
wake up from the sedative the doctor administered to calm her down. Hours passed, and in kiras office Kira,
Odo and the others talked between each other.
“I don’t
think I have ever seen Weyoun like this. He is showing emotions towards ilisha; feelings I never thought he
was capable of.” Odo said.
Dax
concurred “I agree, it would appear that fatherhood has had a dramatic change
on him.”
Kira
turned the concern from Weyoun to Ilisha “Ensign Hamill must have been with
child, and somehow this has been passed onto the Ilisha clone. The question in hand is what we do from
here.”
Worf joined the conversation “Remember what I said about them, they are still
not to be trusted. They are up to
something, I can feel it.”
The door
chime sounded “Enter…” Kira replied. A
Starfleet officer entered the office and addressed the staff.
“Colonel,
there is two Dominion ships requesting docking permission.”
The
atmosphere in the office grew tenser, but Kira knew she had to address the
issue. “Okay, ask them to hold whilst we prepare a docking bay Ensign.”
The
officer nodded to Kira and turned, leaving the office and back into ops. Once he left, Kira continued… “Doctor, I
want you to tell Weyoun that a possible Dominion retrieval party has arrived, and
that we will deal with them.”
“Understood
sir.” He got up from his chair and left the room. He ran to the Infirmary to find weyoun asleep; his head on the
biobed next to Ilisha. Bashir gently
woke Weyoun up, who began to stir, opening his eyes to see Bashir before him.
“What is
it Doctor.” he asks, still sleepy.
“Weyoun, two
Dominion ships are here, and I’m sure they want to speak with you.”
***
Kira had
run out of reasons to hold the Dominion ships in space, and she reluctantly
allowed them to dock on the station. Weyoun came to the docking bay to greet them, but was shocked to
see the female Founder has come too.
He bowed before
the Founder, who looked at Weyoun and Odo.
Her words
were short, and to the point “We need to talk – now.”
The talk that
followed was painful for Weyoun. Ilisha
was to be replaced by Ilisha 2, effective immediately.
“Where is
Ilisha?” the Founder asked. Weyoun
looked at her and didn’t answer her.
“Very well, if you won’t tell me, I shall send the Jem’Hadar to seek her out
and then dispose of her.” Weyoun looked
at the Founder with feelings that he had never truly felt before – hatred. He never thought he could ever hold his Gods
in such contempt, but he found himself doing just that.
He stood
up and calmly walked out. He didn’t
even bother to bow before he left the conference room. The Founder called out to him, but Weyoun
just kept on walking. He knew she would probably have him destroyed now too for
such insubordination.
He had no
choice now, he had to get to Ilisha and run.
He rushed into the Infirmary
with fear cursing through his veins. Ilisha
was still asleep. He pulled the covers off
her.
“Ilisha,
my dear..” He started to gently shake
his daughter’s fragile frame. “…come on, wake up, we have to go…” Ilisha slowly begins to wake up at the sound
of her fathers’ voice.
As she
began to take in her surroundings, she spoke to Weyoun “Father, what is it?” Her
voice still displayed the groggy state she was fighting to shake off.
“We must
leave here now Ilisha.” Weyoun answered.
“Why?” Adds Ilisha as Weyoun helped her off the
biobed.
Weyouns
voice was beginning to break, Ilisha was an innocent, but she was being hunted,
and he knew it was his fault. “Ilisha,
the Founders want to take you away from me. They want to replace you, and I will not let this happen. Now come with me, I am going to request
asylum with the Federation.”
Ilisha
stood up, but her sense off balance failed her and she fell to the floor. Weyoun quickly bundled her up in his arms
and carried her out of the Infirmary…

Kira stood
up in the Conference Room and shouted at the Founder “You’re getting something
out of this aren’t you; you just wouldn’t let Weyoun clone offspring unless
there was something in it for the Dominion.”
Kira went
quiet for a moment, contemplating what this unseen benefit might be. Her expression began to change as she began
to piece together the events of recent times.
“The implant;
the Sect technology. You must have
extracted it from Ensign Hamill and found out it can only work with her genetic
code and replicated it. You’re siring a
new race; a new breed of Vorta that has ten times the basic strength of a
Jem’Hadar soldier. What a platform for
a new offensive on the Alpha Quadrant that would be.”
“Very
good Colonel…” The Founder stood to face Kira, “…and I promise you this time we
will not be so kind,”
Kira let
her temper get the better of her as she lunged at the Founder in an attempt to
hit her, but Odo intervened before any contact could be made.
Kira then
realises that such an attack on a Changeling would be unwise, and promptly
backed down.
“You can
be sure the Federation will not let your plans come together.”
The
Founder replied with a smile crossing her lips “We look forward to the
challenge.”
Kira felt
a shiver cross her spine at the last comment before turning on her heels and leaving
the room. Odo looked sharply at the
Founder across the table from him. “Why, why are you doing this now? After everything that has happened.”
“We still
desire order Odo, and the only way for this to truly be is to ensure we control
the solids. There is no other way.”
Odo knew
that he would be unable to make any difference to her attitude, and followed
Kira out of the Conference Room.
Once Odo
had left the room, the Founder turned to Deyos “I want Weyoun and ilisha
captured and destroyed. Inform Yelgren
and his Jem’Hadar of my wishes. Tell
him to release her; it’s time to see what she can do; and Deyos if this goes
well I shall make you the new ambassador of the Dominion.”
Deyos
bows and leaves the room smiling and bowing.

Weyoun rushed to his ship with Ilisha through the corridors of Deep Space Nine,
suddenly a bright light beamed down in front of them. As the light dimmed, there stood six Jem’Hadar
soldiers. Weyoun quickly began to back
away. The Jem’Hadar moved away to
reveal a small female Vorta, dressed in black velvet trousers, tunic and jacket.
Her big lavender eyes showed a hint of
red in them, and she had an air of pure evil about her.
”You must be Ilisha 2.” Weyoun exclaimed.
The Vorta
moved forward, approaching Weyoun and Ilisha “In the name of the Dominion…” she
shouted to them “…you are traitors and must die for your sins.” she hissed.
Ilisha begins
to gain a sense of her whereabouts, and releases herself from Weyouns hold.
“Ilisha,
what are you doing?” Weyoun whispered. He tried to stop her by grabbing her arm,
but Ilisha easily gets out from his grip.
Ilisha 2 smiles and walks up to her. They
come face to face; Ilisha 2 lifts her hand up to Ilishas face and strokes it. “Oh, what a shame you have to die; such a
waste of exquisite beauty.” Ilisha 2 then kisses ilisha on her forehead then
suddenly slaps her hard across the face. Ilisha fell to the floor “…that’s for disobeying the Founders” she
shouts “…your deaths will make an excellent example to all that oppose us.”
Weyoun ran
over to Ilishas aid, as he tended to his stricken daughter, Ilisha 2 continued “Weyoun,
you are Vorta; you should know better. It is an honour to serve the Founders; and yet you mock the order
of things. I will take great pleasure
out of killing you both.” Ilisha 2
gestured to her guards “Take them.”
The
soldiers approach Weyoun and Ilisha.
Weyoun stands up, attempting to protect Ilisha. The first soldier hits Weyoun in the face
with his shock rifle, who falls to the floor hard.
Ilisha
began to hear the voice again in her head.
The sawing pain in her head created an anger within her. She stood up to face the soldiers “You’ll
have to fight me first!” Ilisha screams out. She turns to face Ilisha 2 “…and you, I could match you in a
fight, and you know it.”
Ilisha 2
moved forward again, getting face to face with her predecessor. “Do not push me further.” She warned,
grabbing Ilisha around the neck and lifting her clean off the floor. She threw her hard against a bulkhead.
As she
fell to the floor, Ilisha feet a pain in her stomach and felt something move
sharply. Suddenly, Odo, Kira, Dax and Worf
appear with phaser rifles behind them.
“Let them
go!” shouted Odo. Ilisha 2 turned around
to look at Odo, she then bowed to him “Very well.” she says with her arms open
wide, still bowing.
“Weyoun, Ilisha;
come on!!!” Kira shouted at them.
Weyoun lifted
Ilisha up in his arms and ran past the guards out of the corridor. When Weyoun and Ilisha are clear down the
next corridor, the others follow, keeping their weapons trained on the Vorta and
Jem’Hadar until they are as far away as possible, before turning and running
themselves.
Iilisha 2 stops bowing and turns to her soldiers “Make sure they don’t get off this
station alive…” Her expression turned
more fierce as she continued “…if they do, I promise I will kill you all with
my bare hands!”
The
soldiers turn and break into a run, chasing the others down the corridor.
***
”I have put the station on Red Alert.” Kira says
“Let’s
get you both out of here.” Odo says to Ilisha and Weyoun. Odo was reminded of the time Weyoun 6 came to
him for asylum. It all seemed to be
happening again, and at least it proved that the Weyoun clone had a good nature
underneath the slimy front he used in his role as Ambassador.
Doctor Bashir appeared in the corridor ahead of them ”Colonel, as requested,
the Defiant stands ready to leave for Earth.”
Kira
stopped and turned to face Weyoun, she felt now would be a good time to explain
the plan to him. “We do not have the
resources here to fight a large Dominion assault team, so we will take the
Defiant into stronger Federation territory, where we can draw the force into
areas with a better defence.”
“A solid
plan.” Weyoun replied. He felt the distinct
pang of irony. He had always wanted to
take Earth for the glory of the Founders back in the War. Now, Weyoun was finally going to Earth, but
not for the Dominion, but to use as a sanctuary from them to save himself and
his daughter.
They
arrive at the airlock that houses the Defiant, as they reach the entry gate,
they see eight Jem’Hadar coming towards them.
Odo
opened the airlock gate and gestured to Kira to enter “Kira take them.”
“You can’t
stay here; please, I love you Odo.” Kira pleads.
“I know,
I love you too.” he quickly kissed her. “They won’t kill me, I am still a Founder. Now go!” Kira looked at
him with tears in her eyes. She knew
what she had to do; she gestures to the others to board and runs into the
airlock herself. As Weyoun entered the
gateway, he turned and looked at Odo “Thank you Odo…”
“Weyoun,
it’s nothing; now go, quickly.” Odo and
Weyoun share a brief, awkward smile before Weyoun headed into the airlock. As the airlock seal slammed shut, Worf approached
Odo “I will stay Odo; this is a good day to die…”
Odo smiled
at Worf; they hear the Defiant starting up. Ilisha 2 sprinted through the corridors, but stopped when she saw Odo
and Worf blocking her way.
“Please Founder
Odo, step aside…” The female Founder
appeared with Deyos and another Vorta in tow.
Who was looking more than a little angry.
“Founder,
we have another problem…” Deyos said, sounding worried.
“What
now? “
“It’s Keevan;
he has commandeered my ship. Keevan threw me out once my jem hadar left. He must have sneaked on somehow.” Shouts
yelgren.
“Keevan
has gone after her.
“I should
never have trusted him in the first place, we should have learned from his
actions in the past.” He will be
terminated too. The female founder sighed.
“Well Odo,
what will happen now?” She asked him as four Jem’Hadar grab him and Worf.
“I must
say I am not pleased at all Deyos, they got away... Never mind… I will have a squadron of fighters to capture them
before they reach Earth.”
As the Defiant
sped through space, Weyoun thought about what was going to happen now. The truth
was he didn’t know. His and ilishas future was uncertain…
To be concluded…
